A Powerball ticket sold in California won $18,461 but just missed the $59 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched four of five winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Monday, Jan. 27, the California Lottery said. Tickets sold in Arizona and Puerto Rico each won $2 million, lottery officials said.

A Powerball ticket sold in Illinois won $50,000, but just missed the $71 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The tickets matched four of five winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, Jan. 29, the Illinois Lottery said.

The lottery jackpot was an estimated $69 million with a cash option of $30.7 million for Wednesday night's drawing, according to the Powerball website. The jackpot was last won on Jan. 18 when a Oregon lottery player won $329 million Powerball jackpot.
