Kenny Chesney is Sphere-bound. The country star announced Thursday that he’ll launch a 12-date residency at the state-of-the-art dome-shaped venue in Las Vegas in May, nine months after he wrapped a U.S. tour that hit Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium in July.

A new residency was announced Thursday for the Las Vegas Sphere, and it represents the first country music act to take the stage at Las Vegas' newest venue.

Country music superstar Kenny Chesney will be the first country act to perform at the legendary Sphere at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. His 12-night residency there will start on May 22 and end on June 14. He will perform on May 22, May 24, May 25, May 28, May 30, May 31, June 4, June 6, June 7, June 11, June 13 and June 14.

Tickets for Kenny Chesney’s Las Vegas residency at the Sphere go on sale Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. through Ticketmaster. With this being the first country act to take over Las Vegas’ Sphere, it’ll come as no surprise if tickets sell out fast.

Now, some music fans are speculating that Kenny Chesney, who is a four-time entertainer of the year winner at both the CMA Awards and ACM Awards, and a mainstay stadium headliner, is the next artist slated to play the Sphere.
