Skygazers were treated to a spectacular celestial sight Tuesday night as the orange-ish Harvest supermoon coincided with a partial lunar eclipse.

Staff at Village Creek State Park, just 10 miles north of Beaumont, spotted not only the lunar eclipse, but Saturn and its rings. The ringed planet recently reached opposition, when Saturn, Earth, and the Sun are positioned in a straight line, making it appear bigger and brighter in the night sky. Saturn passed behind the moon just before it set.
