On July 9, 2025, the US State Department sanctioned Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories. As indicated in the DOS statement, “Albanese has spewed unabashed antisemitism, expressed support for terrorism, and open contempt for the United States, Israel, and the West.”
What Albanese’s report tries to do is not merely shame Israel’s genocide partners but to tell us that we now have a frame of reference.
