No one won the $1 billion Mega Millions jackpot in Tuesday’s drawing, but five tickets sold in Georgia still won a nice chunk of change.

Residents of Alabama do not have the luxury of going to their local gas station to get a Mega Millions ticket as the state does not participate the mutli-state lottery, but that doesn't stop many from making the drive across state lines to Georgia to get their chance for the more than $1 billion jackpot.

Someone in Lilburn hit the $479,039 jackpot after matching all five numbers drawn Thursday, Dec. 19, according to the Georgia Lottery. The winning ticket was sold at a Fast Freddy’s Food Mart in Lilburn, officials said. The player beat odds of 1 in 850,668 to win the game’s grand prize.
