The National Hurricane Center (NHC) and the FOX 35 Storm Team are tracking an area of low pressure sitting near the panhandle of Florida: Invest 93L. With plenty of fuel to feed the disturbance, Invest 93L has the potential to become a tropical depression by the end of this week.

Rain from Invest 93L looks to hold off until later Wednesday along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, when the flood threat begins to increase and will last through Saturday. Widespread rain totals of 3 to 6 inches are expected,

Forecasters have been watching the system — now designated as Invest 93L — for several days. Chances for development continue to grow and now stand at 40% over the next 48 hours. The next named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season will be Dexter.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -We’re closely monitoring Invest 93L as it targets the Gulf Coast. There’s currently a medium (40%) chance of tropical development in the northern Gulf by late week. Forecast models remain inconsistent, so there’s still uncertainty about whether a system will fully form, its potential track, or intensity:
