Jack Del Rio, the senior adviser to Wisconsin football coach Luke Fickell, will resign after he was arrested and cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio was arrested by Madison police for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and will step down from his role on Wisconsin’s coaching staff, coach Luke Fickell announced Monday.

Jack Del Rio, an NFL alum and coach for more than two decades, has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Hours after his arrest, Del Rio announced he was leaving his current job in the middle of the season.
