The reason why Kamala Harris did not film a long-form podcast with Joe Rogan, the most influential figure in the space, has finally been revealed.

Kamala Harris campaign staffers were worried the Democrat would alienate her progressive base if she sat down for an interview with popular podcaster Joe Rogan, according to a new report.

Joe Rogan said Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris didn’t appear on his wildly successful podcast because she didn’t want to field a question about marijuana legalization. The New York Post quoted Rogan as saying that the Harris campaign had made it clear that the veep didn’t want to take any weed questions.

According to Rogan, the Harris-Walz campaign made several other demands, including limiting the discussion to about an hour, far shorter than the three hours or more he typically prefers, and requesting accommodations to ensure the vice president wouldn’t have to travel to his studio in Austin, Texas.
