While speaking to reporters, Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery shared that defenseman Hampus Lindholm will be out "weeks" due to a lower-body injury. Lindholm, 30, left the Bruins' most recent matchup against the St. Louis Blues after blocking a shot.

The veteran blue liner suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of Tuesday’s 3-2 win over the Blues in St. Louis.

Jim Montgomery shared that top defender Hampus Lindholm will be out for “weeks” with a lower-body injury, suffered while blocking a shot from St. Louis’ Justin Faulk on Tuesday night.

Despite the Bruins' win in St. Louis on Tuesday, Boston still lost Hampus Lindholm for a significant stretch due to injury.

Lindholm limped to the bench and was clearly laboring before testing himself with a short skate during the next timeout. He then hustled off down the tunnel and did not return.

The Bruins earned their most emotional victory of the season in their third-period comeback win over a middling St. Louis Blues team. But they’ll be hard-pressed to extend the good vibes much longer than the average sugar high.
