The president extended his pause on so-called “reciprocal tariffs” on U.S. trading partners till August 1 and indicated that the new deadline was not set in stone.

China warned the US not to reimpose tariffs on Chinese goods and threatened to punish countries aimed at cutting Beijing out of global supply chains.

President Trump said yesterday that South Korea and Japan would face a new 25 percent tariff on their exports as of Aug. 1. He also extended a pause on steeper tariffs against dozens of other nations that was set to take effect tomorrow.
