A Buncombe County Detention Center officer died in a car crash shortly after midnight on Nov. 12, the sheriff's office announced in a news release.

Officials said that on Nov. 7, a 54-year-old inmate, who has not been identified, told deputies she was feeling ill.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an inmate at the Spokane County Jail on Friday. The inmate, a 36-year-old man, had returned from a court hearing around 2 p.m. and was found unresponsive on the floor of his cell by 4 p.

Damon Antone Young was found unresponsive in his bed at the jail at 10:51 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the inmate's death.
