Google Maps has a new live lane guidance feature that uses cameras and AI to see the road and tell you when to change lanes, but it’s limited to the Polestar 4.

Google says that in the coming days, the Live Lane Guidance feature will be made available to other vehicle models equipped with Android Automotive OS and the ADAS hardware.

Google has introduced new AI-powered features for Maps in India, including conversational driving, proactive traffic alerts, metro ticket booking, and localized updates to enhance daily navigation experiences for Indian users.

Google Maps is an invaluable tool, whether you're on foot, driving a car, or taking public transportation. And now, for cars that have Google built in, it's set to be an even more active navigation partner with AI-powered live lane guidance. It will be a welcome feature for drivers who tremble at the idea of traversing multi-lane highways alone.

To download a map in Google Maps offline, open the Google Maps app on iOS or Android and tap your profile picture on the top right (you must be logged in to your Google account for this to work). In the menu that appears, tap Offline maps > Select Your Own Map.
