As per a post on its official blog, Google says that AI-powered live lane guidance is coming to Google Maps. It will use the front-facing camera on the vehicle to see which lane you're currently in, and tell you to move over if you need to.

Cars with Google built-in are getting a new Google Maps feature that will tailor navigation based on the lane you're driving in.

Open the Google Maps app. Tap the Saved or You tab at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to Your lists and tap New list. Enter a name and an optional description to clarify what the list is for and adjust your privacy setting. Tap Save to finish.
