The gross, average, and median were all up compared to last year's sale. A total of 2,888 yearlings sold over 12 days, resulting in a gross of $427,800,000, including privates sales.

Yearling Sale, which surpassed its record gross Thursday with two sessions still to go, concluded its blockbuster 12-day run Saturday in Lexington with increases across the board over its 2023 renewal.

Demand for offspring by Darley Stallions' Maxfield continued during the sixth session of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale as a colt by the multiple grade 1 winner sold for a session-topping $575,000 to conclude the Book 3 portion of the auction Sept. 15.

Cumulatively, Keeneland has sold 2,048 yearlings through the ring for $396,213,500, up 4.44 percent from the corresponding period last year when the gross was $379,373,200 for 2,103 horses. Average price of $193,

Keeneland today achieved another milestone in its storied history as the 2024 September Yearling Sale became the highest-grossing Thoroughbred auction in the world following Thursday’s 10th session when cumulative total sales through the ring reached $405,519,500. The previous record of $405,495,700 was set during the 2022 September Sale.
