Ichiro became the first Japanese player chosen for baseball’s Hall, falling one vote shy of a unanimous election on Tuesday.

It won't be official until the voting is released, but Ichiro Suzuki is heading to the Hall of Fame. The Japanese outfielder is expected to be one of the names inducted into Cooperstown in the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame class.

Beloved in Japan and in the US, Ichiro Suzuki now has a permanent home in Cooperstown, New York. Suzuki, 51, cements himself in baseball lore, becoming the first Japanese player to be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
