MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr on Monday accused his predecessor Rodrigo Duterte of peddling lies after the former leader said this year's national budget was invalid, in the latest feud between the former allies ahead of upcoming midterm elections.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. tagged his predecessor, Rodrigo Duterte, a liar for claiming that the 2025 General Appropriations Act was passed and signed with "blank items" and "discrepancies." "He knows that you cannot pass a GAA with a blank. He's lying. And he's lying because he knows perfectly well that that doesn't ever happen," Marcos said.
