The example OpenAI uses in its post on X is a prompt for ChatGPT to remind the user to work out every morning at 9:30 a.m. and pump them up with a motivational speech. You can also use Tasks to get regular reminders to renew your library books, call your mom on her birthday, or vacuum your home every Thursday.

OpenAI is making ChatGPT work a little more like older digital assistants with a new feature called Tasks, as reported by TechCrunch and others. Currently in beta, Tasks allows users to direct the chatbot to send reminders or to generate responses to specific prompts at certain times; recurring tasks are also supported.

Tasks will enable ChatGPT users to request tasks to be performed at a future time, including one-time reminders or recurring actions.
