Writer, producer and director Greg Berlanti received this year's Governors Award, given by the Television Academy at the Emmys.

"There wasn't a lot of gay characters on television back then and I was a closeted gay kid at the time," Greg Berlanti said at the 76th Emmys.

Out queer actors, directors, and creatives snagged big wins and made meny memorable moments at the annual awards event.
