The Reds have already bid farewell to right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who rejected the club’s offer of a new contract in favour of departing when his current deal expires this summer. A move to Madrid has not been formally confirmed but is widely expected to be finalised once the campaign comes to a close.

A deal for the right-back, 26, to join the La Liga side has now entered its final stages and is on course to be signed in the coming weeks.

Alexander-Arnold didn’t mention his next destination when confirming his imminent departure from Liverpool on his social media accounts but the England right back is widely expected to move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
