The next visit to the Emerald Isle may actually come in Ireland, not Northern Ireland. Portmarnock Golf Club has been under consideration in recent years. Set on a peninsula which juts into the Irish Sea about 8 miles northeast of Dublin, the course winds its way through rolling sand hills on crisp turf and pot bunkers abound.

Adding to the many cool sights at Royal Portrush’s historic links this week was the British Open leaderboard showing Danish twins Rasmus and Nicolai Hojgaard in the top 10.

The 153rd Open Championship returns to Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland from July 17-20, 2025, marking just the third time this prestigious links course has hosted golf’s oldest major championship.
