A woman who was found deceased Wednesday on a Spokane Valley sidewalk was identified as 79-year-old Edna Russell, according to the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Russell’s cause and manner of death are pending.

A person was found dead Wednesday evening in an apartment fire in Spokane Valley. Firefighters were called to Four Oaks and the Villa, 106 N. Skipworth St., just before 8 p.m., said Patrick Erickson,

The sheriff's office said first responders provided treatment to the woman, but the woman was later pronounced dead at the scene.
