Music streaming platform Spotify has announced the arrival of its AI Playlist feature, in beta version, for paying users in the USA, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand. The idea is to use algorithms to select tracks according to the tastes and specific requests of the application's users.

The AI-powered playlist creation tool can be found in the “Your Library” tab by selecting the plus button (+) at the top right of the screen and choosing “AI Playlist” in the menu next to “Playlist” and “Blend.” Users can tap the “Create” button to save the playlist to their library.

In a blog post the music streaming giant recommends subscribers stick to "genre," "mood" or "artist" prompts to generate the most successful playlists, but it stipulates that anything from movie characters to emojis can be used. Examples include, "Upbeat folk music for a scenic fall road trip," and "2000 era hype jams for the tailgate."

With the help of generative AI, Spotify can create a detailed playlist through a simple text prompt. The beta feature is expanding to four more countries.

According to Spotify's press release, this feature remains in beta and available on both iOS and Android. That said, it isn’t available on the Spotify desktop or web apps yet. P
