Andrés Giménez singled home José Ramírez from second base in the 10th inning as the Cleveland Guardians clinched a playoff berth in dramatic, fitting fashion, beating the Minnesota Twins 3-2.

The Guardians loaded the bases with nobody out in the seventh inning via two walks and a single. Daniel Schnemann was struck out by Pablo Lopez on three pitches, but Angel Martinez followed with an RBI single to left field to cut the Twins' lead to 3-2. Lopez's final batter of the game was Andres Gimenez, who struck out.

The Twins had a great chance to score in the top of the 10th inning, as with Farmer starting the extra frame at second base, Matt Wallner was hit by an Eli Morgan pitch and Willi Castro bunted the runners over to second and third with one out. Margot was walked to load the bases, bringing up Carlos Correa.
