Three Greek opposition parties say they are planning to challenge the conservative government with a censure motion over its handling of a 2023 rail disaster that killed 57 people
Protests were staged in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Cologne, Helsinki, London, Nicosia, Reykjavik and Valetta, Malta
The demonstrations recalled the mass protests of the working class which filled up city centres during the movement against austerity in Greece from 2010.
A demonstration was held in Nicosia’s central Eleftheria square on Sunday over the train crash which killed 57 people between the Greek villages of Tempi and Evangelismos on the mainline between Athens and Thessaloniki.
