With Matt Nagy and Steve Spagnuolo drawing interest around the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid sent a clear message to all his assistants.

The team announced that they completed an interview with Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo for their head coach position. Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy interviewed for the same job earlier this week and Kansas City’s assistant G.M. Mike Borgonzi interviewed for the team’s General Manager job.

With three requests on the docket, Spagnuolo is set to knock out his trio of head coaching interviews ahead of the weekend.

The team announced the completion of their interview with Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. They have also requested an interview with Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and are set to interview Chiefs assistant G.M. Mike Borgonzi, so they aren’t being shy about meeting with members of the back-to-back champs.

Gang Green had a busy Wednesday interviewing both general manager and coaching candidates for its vacant positions.

The New York Jets completed a head coaching interview with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, the team announced Wednesday ... an interview with Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, according to NFL Network.

Nothing was agreed upon or finalized by Tuesday evening, but the pair are believed to be the Jets' choices to lead the team going forward.

Only the coordinators who interviewed for head coaching jobs before playoff games know if those conversations with other teams were a distraction.

For some of those teams, that will involve finding new head coaches and/or General Managers. Three teams fired their head coaches during the season and two more have been dispatched as of 9 a.m. ET on January 6.
