After getting hired by the Los Angeles Lakers this past summer, head coach JJ Redick had an uphill battle as a first-year coach with veterans like Anthony Davis and LeBron James on his team.

JJ Redick picked up arguably his biggest win in his early coaching career as the Los Angeles Laker blew out the Boston Celtics on Friday night. Redick praised the Lakers for their execution of the defensive gameplan and for good reason as they managed to hold the Celtics to only 96 points.

Mazzulla tried to hire Redick on as a Celtics assistant in September 2022. Redick has since shifted from working in the media to coaching the Lakers.
