NASA astronaut Sunni Williams, one-half Boeing Starliner crew who have been stuck on the International Space Station for months, took part in a spacewalk on Thursday to do some repairs to the orbiting laboratory.

Sunita Williams, a NASA astronaut of Indian origin, completed her first spacewalk in over seven months at the International Space Station. Williams, alongside Nick Hague, undertook repairs and will soon embark on another mission with Butch Wilmore.

One of the two astronauts stranded at the International Space Station (ISS) has taken their first space walk since arriving at the station nearly seven months ago.

At the time of writing, Williams and ISS crewmate, Nick Hague, are conducting NASA’s first spacewalk in over a year. The pair are scheduled to spend roughly 6.5 hours in the vacuum of space, where they will work on a number of long overdue external repairs and equipment assessments.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- One of NASA’s two stuck astronauts got a much welcomed change of scenery Thursday, stepping out on her first spacewalk since arriving at the International Space Station more than seven months ago.

Suni Williams, one of two astronauts who has been stuck on the International Space Station after a technical issue delayed a planned return to Earth, was performing outdoor repair work on Thursday along with astronaut Nick Hague.

NASA astronauts at the ISS go on a spacewalk to work on some upgrades at the site::Nick Hague and Suni Williams took in views of Earth as they undertook their work. The spacewalk is expected to go for about six hours.
