Benedict Cumberbatch has retracted his earlier statement about Doctor Strange skipping Avengers: Doomsday, now confirming his involvement. However, he later cast doubt on his remarks, leaving his exact role uncertain as the MCU's multiverse expands.

To paraphrase Doctor Strange: he is in Doomsday now. Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Master of the Mystic Arts Stephen Strange, revealed what he described as a spoiler last week when a Variety cover story quoted him as saying that the spellcaster is sitting out Avengers: Doomsday.

"Don't ever believe anything I say," he smirked, when the publication brought up the fact that Marvel stars often lie to keep franchise secrets, like when Andrew Garfield stated multiple times that he wasn't involved in Spider-Man: No Way Home...

Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that the Sorcerer Supreme is almost definitely not in for the the next big Marvel team-up film.

While Marvel has not officially announced Doctor Strange 3, it sounds like the studio is developing the sequel behind-the-scenes, collaborating very closely with star Benedict Cumberbatch. In an interview with Variety,
