The 28-year-old, who made history in August as the first deaf woman to be crowned Miss South Africa, was set to compete among 120 contestants at the prestigious 73rd Miss Universe pageant this weekend.

Due to health concerns, Miss South Africa Mia le Roux has withdrawn from the 73rd Miss Universe pageant. For the past few weeks, Le Roux has been in Mexico, participating in various events and preparing for the finale, which will take place on Saturday, 16 November.
