Slidell mayor is leaving for job in Jeff Landry administration. Who will run next?
Cromer, who has called being Slidell's mayor "the best job I've ever had," was set to leave the post when his term expires in June 2026. As a former state representative, he beat former St. Tammany Parish President Kevin Davis in a 2018 runoff for the mayor's race.
Slidell mayor steps down, takes role with Gov. Jeff Landry's office
The mayor of Slidell has officially stepped down and accepted a new position with Gov. Jeff Landry's administration. Greg Cromer confirmed he will be a legislative liaison with the Department of Transportation and Development. Cromer is expected to start his new position at the end of January. His last day as mayor will be Jan. 20.
