The Cincinnati Reds are trading for Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux. The veteran is a two-time World Series Champion that could bring another proven bat to their lineup. However, there's a chance Lux never plays for the Reds.

A potential Yankees target is now off the board with the Cincinnati Reds acquiring infielder Gavin Lux in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers have reportedly been working to find a trading partner for Lux, who drew interest from both the San Diego Padres and New York Yankees in recent weeks. The Dodgers signed Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim to a three-year deal earlier this month, too. Kim could easily slide in and take Lux’s spot in the lineup.

In recent days, the New York Yankees discussed trades for two second base options: Gavin Lux of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Luis Arraez of the San Diego Padres. With Lux now headed to Cincinnati, Arraez remains their sole current infield target – and that may be great for the Yankees.
