A limited edition Barbie of Aaliyah sold out within hours of going on sale on what would have been the late R&B singer’s 46th birthday.

Aaliyah has joined the hallowed halls of legendary singers immortalized in Barbie form by doll maker Mattel. The collectible Barbie, which celebrates the artist’s enduring influence on music, fashion and pop culture, became available for pre-order Thursday on what would have been the late star’s 46th birthday.

The Aaliyah doll has been released as a part of the Barbie Music Collector Series, which has included collectible dolls of Stevie Nicks, Gloria Estefan, David Bowie and Tina Turner, among others.

Celebrate Aaliyah’s iconic legacy with her well-deserved Music Collector series Barbie doll available now for pre-order through Target, with a general release on Jan. 26. Other celebrities featured in the Barbie Music Collector Series including David Bowie, Gloria Estefan, Elvis Presley, Elton John, and Stevie Nicks.

The much-anticipated Aaliyah Barbie doll, released at midnight on January 16, 2025, on MattelCreations.com, sold out in just 30 minutes. Retailing for $64.99, the doll was accompanied by a one-year membership to Barbie Club 59, granting members access to exclusive deals and early product releases.
