Destiny 2 will give Titans a set of Stormtrooper armor as a microtransaction for a Star Wars collab. Is that crossing a line?

During a Destiny 2 livestream today, developer Bungie announced that it’s adding new Star Wars-themed cosmetic skins and items to the popular free-to-play shooter next month.

Heresy is unleashing a Star Wars crossover event, as well as bringing back the iconic Dreadnaught of the Taken King.

Heresy is the latest in Bungie’s new content strategy for Destiny 2, smaller expansions that they can iterate and release more quickly. This time, you return to the Dreadnaught, the dreaded Hive ship that’s now been drifting unmoored for years, like a ghost ship.

Destiny 2 has changed considerably since it released in 2017. It became free to play in 2019, and has since released epic expansions like The Witch Queen, Lightfall, and last year's The Final Shape. And now, eight years after its release, a new collaboration could expand Destiny 's fan base even more.

Bungie announced the Star Wars crossover and lots more during a broadcast on January 28. Also as part of this, Bungie confirmed that the Dreadnaught is returning to Destiny in Destiny 2: Heresy, which is the final epilogue of the so-called Light and Darkness saga.

Bungie announced during today's developer livestream that Star Wars-inspired armor and cosmetics will come to Destiny 2 when Heresy Act 1 goes live on February 4. Destiny 2 players will have access to three new Star Wars skins with the launch of Heresy,

Bungie has lifted the lid on a surprising new crossover for Destiny 2: cosmetics from the world of Star Wars. Stormtrooper, Praetorian Guard and Death Trooper outfits are on the way, alongside a Ghost shell themed around the Second Death Star.

Destiny 2 and Star Wars are having themselves a fun collaboration with the launch of Heresy, bringing skins from a galaxy far, far away to the title.
