Portland gets a slight lull in precipitation early Wednesday, but by mid-morning, rain rates will increase. The temperature at 5 a.m. at the Portland International Airport was 43 degrees and will likely stay there (with some minor variation) through the afternoon. Wind gusts of 20-25 mph are possible.
Windier conditions develop on Saturday into Sunday, too, ushering in a colder air mass to end the weekend. Lows on Saturday morning will be back in the 10s, with highs in the 20s. This is a lot closer to the seasonal normals for mid-January, and far from the bitter cold that we know January often produces.
