The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered a detailed report on the ghee adulteration controversy involving Tirupati temple's laddoo prasadam, following lab tests confirming contamination with animal fat.

The controversy surrounding the alleged use of animal fat in Tirupati laddoos has sparked reactions from Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu and BJP leader Nalin Kohli, calling for an investigation. Both ministers emphasized the importance of maintaining devotees' faith.

In the midst of a controversy over the usage of animal fat in Tirupati laddoo production, Indian dairy company Amul issued a statement clarifying that it never gave ghee (clarified butter) to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

Union health minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday said he had spoken to Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and sought a re.

In a statement, Amul addressed social media rumours that claimed the company had been providing ghee to the temple. “We wish to clarify that Amul has never supplied ghee to TTD,” the company said, further stating that their ghee is produced from high-quality milk in ISO-certified facilities.

Amid a row over the use of animal fat in prasada given at Tirumala temple in Andhra's Tirupati district, Amul issued a clarification on Friday, stating that it had never supplied ghee to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

VHP secretary-general Bajrang Bagda also pitched for “freeing” all temples and other Hindu religious places from government control across the country, as he demanded legal action against those allegedly involved in desecrating Tirupati laddu prasadam.
