The wintry mix over the weekend brought not only snow to western Massachusetts but also sleet and freezing rain.

After more snow fell across western Massachusetts over the weekend, the seasonal snowfall total for Westover Airbase in Chicopee is now up to 18 inches. On average by this time of year, there is usually around 35 inches, an amount that hasn’t been seen in a few years.

Another weekend snowstorm came to western Massachusetts and while freezing rain may still be on its way, the snowfall has ended for now, bringing over seven inches to some areas.

StormTeam 5 said that much of the snow that fell could get washed away on Sunday as that transition to rain continues.
