The problem is defect in the placement of the starter, it was extremely dirty from salt and corrosion because it is located in a bad position. Since few areas will have this problem (ie upstate NY) there will probably never be a recall. I had the starter changed and the part was $200 which is quite expensive compared to mant other cars.

The GEO cars seem to last forever although most consider them "throwaways" Cars to avoid: Any Neon Most Hyundais and Kias Cars with power seats, windows - those darn motors fail giving you a 200+ repair 88-92 White Oldsmobiles - major rust problems I guess that my preference is for simple cars with few things that can go wrong.

Toyota Venza Remote Engine Start. I thought I already posted this but I don't see it, so forgive me if it appears twice. I purchased a 2010 4-cyl FWD Venza last week, with only the Smart Key and Leather packages. It did not come with the Remote Engine Start and I'm thinking about having that added either by Toyota or a 3rd party.
2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee starter clicks but will not start
Jun 1, 2009 · My 2005 JGC has 25K and when I turn the key it clicks but does nto start. I tried jumping but that does not work and it seem to have plenty of power. I f I sit and turn the key 10 times it might turn over and start. Runs fine but this is getting worse. Battery cables are not corroded at all. All looks good.
Has anyone found a fix for the Starting Disabled Service
The problem started when it was cold and is happening not matter the tempture. The engine just cuts off, off no warning, no noise or jercking and it says "Starting Disabled Service Throttle", and it's dead, after about 5 minutes it starts right back up, no problem starting at all, and no check engine light is on.
