While all five living US presidents attended Jimmy Carter's state funeral in Washington DC on Thursday, there were only four first ladies. Former First Lady Michelle Obama did not join her husband, Former President Barack Obama, at the ceremony. President Joe Biden, FLOTUS Jill Biden, former president George W Bush and Bill Clinton were also at the event.

Jimmy Carter's flag-draped casket was escorted into Washington's National Cathedral. All the living former presidents and first ladies were there, except for Michelle Obama. Politics were put aside for the historic encounter to honor Carter. President-elect Donald Trump sat with Melania by his side, and even shared a laugh with Barack Obama. Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood belted out John Lennon's "Imagine" at the service.
