The carriage lock on this @olivermachinery planer is amazing. This is the least snipe I’ve ever gotten on a machine. I usually plane a few times without it engaged and then lock it in for my final pass or 2. It locks the helical planer head housing to the 4 posts it rides on and prevents it from digging in. @olivermachinery sent me this machine to review with the understanding that I use it for a few months and then donate it - probably to the @rochesterny Maker Space. So far I am really impressed with the machine and it has a few features I haven’t seen, like the carriage lock. It has 2 feed rate speeds for skip planing or finish planing and the finish is fantastic and I dig the integrated digital depth gauge. I’m curious how long the blades last - what are things you want to know about this machi
